I have started working on the 30GB of photos that I shot in Kansai, Japan last week. I am working on the photos that I shot at the Jidai Matsuri first. They are availalbe at here.

Jidai Matsuri means Festival of Ages and it is the main reason why I took the trip. It is one of the three greatest annual fetes in Kyoto. It features over 2,000 marchers dressup in costumes representing different periods during the time when Kyoto was the capital of Japan from 794 to 1868. The procession begins from the Kyoto Imperial Palace at noon and ends at the Heian Shrine. The parade was truly amazing. I didn’t follow the parade because it was my first day in Kyoto and I didn’t know the route of the procession well. I just waited at the Heian Shrine for them to come. The leaders of the procession arrived Heian Shrine at about 14:22 and the last group of the procession arrived at about 15:56. I have uploaded my photos taken at Jidai Matsuri at here. I will be adding more in the coming days.
